Five by Six Award Rules

I. Objective: For SDXA members to make contact with five DXCC entities on each of the six continents which are North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Oceania. The total of 30 contacts must be made during seven of the 2022-2023 PNW DX Competition contests.

II. Contests: The seven contests are

  1. ARRL RTTY Roundup, January 7 and 8, 2023, UTC
  2. CQ WPX RTTY, February 11 and 12, 2023, UTC
  3. ARRL DX CW, February 18 and 19, 2023, UTC
  4. ARRL DX SSB, March 4 and 5, 2023, UTC
  5. CQ WPX SSB, March 25 and 26, 2023, UTC
  6. CQ WPX CW, May 27 and 28, 2023, UTC
  7. IARU, July 8 and 9, 2023, UTC

III. Bands: Bands are the ones allowed in each particular contest.  All have 80, 40, 20, 15, and 10 m.  Some include 160 m so check the rules for each contest.

IV. Modes: SSB, CW, RTTY or any combination of the three.

V. Log Submission: Simply submit a list with the date, time, mode, and call sign of the station you worked to [email protected].

VI. Awards: All who accomplish this award will receive an engraved plaque with the name of the award and their call sign.

VII. Notes:

  1. North America should be easy. Five common ones are K, KL, VE, KP4, and C6.
  2. South America should be easy. Five common ones are PJ2, PJ4, LU, PY, and HC.
  3. Europe should be easy. Five common ones are DL, F, EA, CT, and I.
  4. Asia might be tougher than you expect. Four common ones are JA, UA9, HL, and BY.
  5. Oceania might be tougher than you expect. Four common ones are KH6, KH2, ZL, and VK.
  6. Africa is a challenge. Three common ones are EA8, CT3, and CN.
