Most of these awards are given out at the annual SDXA Awards Banquet by the organization in December. Some awards may be given by other organizations to our members too. Some awards are sponsored by us in third party contests.

SDXAer Member of the Year (former DXER OF THE YEAR)

This award is for recognition of a SDXA member who has gone above and beyond for the club and/or it’s members. It is not to be an award for operating and doing well in contests or rare DX, etc. It likely will not be handed out every year. Club members are encouraged to nominate a member when they see someone going above and beyond. Nominations can be done by letting any of the officers know, giving justification (simple is fine) why the member is deserving.

A plaque is given by the SDXA to the ham who satisfies the following criteria in the annual WWDXC-sponsored Salmon Run contest:

a. Operate in the Eastern Washington ARRL Section
b. Be a Single Operator
c. Operate with Low Power(100 watts or less output)
d. Be in the Mixed Mode category. Contest Modes: Phone, CW, and Digital (Any computer-to-computer mode is considered digital (excluding CW) and only one digital contact may be made with a station on each band). Mixed-mode entries are required to make at least 5% of the total contacts on a second or third mode to be eligible for an award.
