June 2006 Minutes

SPOKANE DX ASSOCIATION MINUTES
JUNE 1, 2006
7:00 P.M.

Steve (K7AWB) called the meeting to order.

We are having the program presentation at the beginning of the meeting in
order to show respect and consideration to the presenter and presentation.

The program for this evening was given by Lamar (WA7LT). The program was on
the second half of “How High Should your Antenna Go”. Thank you, Lamar.

We had two guests this evening Ed Stuckey, AI7H, (President); and John
Hollar, N7JU, from KARS. They have also invited us to the Rathdrum Swap
Meet on June 10th. Free Admission, Free Parking, and 4 or 5 Vendors. There
will also be a breakfast. It will begin at 6:30 a.m. and go until 2:00 p.m.

July 8th will be the Annual picnic at Dale and Nancy Avery’s. Bring a dish
to share and the brats and burgers will be provided. The address for the
barbecue is 1109 E Glencrest Dr.

The treasurer’s Report was presented and given by Lamar (WA7LT).

General consensus at this time is that the liability insurance we have been
looking at is too expensive and we will take another look at liability
insurance at a later date.

Pacific North West DX Convention will be in Vancouver, BC July 21, 22 and
23.

Lamar (WA7LT) reminded us that distribution of Field Day responsibilities
need to be shared and two major things need to be remembered.
Have a good performance socially
Have a lot of participation shared by all
The set up will be Friday and all the help we can get will be appreciated.
All gear, antennas, radios and computers as well as stations are about as
ready as we can get them for this year. Please remember that we are parking
on the gravel at the main entrance this year.

August: VHS 5 top DX locations in the work in last 15 years will be the
presentation.
September: How to put 40 meter square array by Gary, K7OX.
October and November — no program yet.

No new information from Hamfest. However, Lamar will be giving a
presentation at Hamfest.

LaMar has a lot of Antenna work this summer and would appreciate help
anytime someone has some free available time.
