The meeting was called to order at 7:07 PM by President Gary Elliott, K7OX. An around-the-room introduction, plus an attendance sign-in list of those present, started the activities. There were 14 attendees; not bad considering the summer doldrums. Comments were:

K7OX then made the following announcements:

1. He will arrange for club badges for $7.57 each as requested.
2. Our application for ARRL affiliation should be acted upon at the July executive committee meeting.
3. The August informal meeting will be an outdoor BBQ out in the valley. Everyone is asked to bring their own meat to cook and a dish to share. Due to a conflict with the Pacific Northwest DX Convention (Portland), this will take place as a 2 to 6 PM event on August 10th.
4. The Technical Committee, N5AR, is still awaiting the first assignment for TVI, antenna matching, and other problems.
5. Permission was granted for the purchase of a SDXA club banner for use at the October Hamfest booth/table.

The Treasurer, AA7RT, reported a balance of $199.80 in the treasury. She also asked that those attending the August BBQ please bring their own chairs.

The Secretary, WA7LT, again asked that new visitors pass on their E-mail address so they can receive future announcements. He also asked for help with the October Hamfest special event station, K7S. [It was later learned that the station operation would not take place due to lack of help.]

In response to a question from the floor, it was announced the local repeater for DXing was 447.725 (Tx) / 444.725 (Rx) with a 100 cycle access tone.

Following the meeting N5AR gave a very enjoyable view graph presentation of the many variations of the cubical quad antenna. Many of the techniques were new to the group.
