Dan N5AR has new way of putting up antennas with a ham airplane. Just kidding. Dan got an inquiry from a French ham who saw an airplane with markings resembling a ham license call. Dan assures us that he does not own an airplane. That pilot in front of the airplane is NOT Dan when he was younger!

Wilse WX7P from Rice, WA give a presentation at the November, 2007 meeting where he showed how he and the neighbors in his Alaskan town installed antennas using a hot air balloon. This eposide was featured on the cover of CQ Magazine in September, 1980. Later, he also used a helicopter to install another antenna which was featured on the August, 1984 CQ Magazine cover. The ARRL DXCC Desk announces the addition of St Barthelemy (FJ) to the DXCC List, making the island entity number 338 with an effective date of 14 December, 2007. Cards with contacts dated December 14, 2007 or after will be accepted for DXCC credit.

The 2007 Annual Awards Banque was held at the Perkins Restaurant & Bakery at 12 E. Olive in Spokane on Thursday, December 6, 2007. The doors opened up for a social at 6:00 and dinner was at 7:00.
Our program was DXing and Traveling in Syria by Al Rovner, K7AR, of Vancouver, WA. This presentation covered the YK9A DXpedition to Syria in February of 2001. The slide presentation and discussion covered the planning, logistics and operation of the expedition, plus visits to several historic and archaeological sites within Syria.

Al works for Sharp Corporation as a software engineer and holds a BSEE degree from Drexel University and a MSCS degree from Oregon Graduate Institute.
Dinner was a buffet style meal consisting of ham and turkey, dressing and potatoes, coffee or tea, etc. for $14.50 which included the gratuity. At an added expense, the Restaurant provided individuals with beer, wine, or alternate beverages.
Plaques were presented to Lamar WA7LT as outgoing 2007 SDXA President, Wayne WA1PMA as SDXA DXer of the year, and Gary K7OX for his win in the September 2006 Salmon Run contest.
