SDXA MEETING

Meeting was called to order by Lamar, WA7LT at 7:00 p.m. Opened meeting with thanks to Dale, WU7X and Nancy Avery for hosting the SDXA picnic June 30th. What a wonderful time was had by everyone (approximately 30 members and family).<\/p>\n
Comments on how successful Field Day was this year and some of the things that need improvement will be discussed during the program time for this evening. Program was introduced and presented by Gary K7OX. The program was on Field Day Results, The new ICOM Video on Tim K3LR’s super contest station \/IOTA information, and LOTW (Log Book of the World) part II. Gary went over everything that went well with Field Day and areas that we can improve on. We received extra points that we had never gotten before for elected officials, television, RTTY and more. We also fell down in some area\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s including the number of people who stated they would be there (and weren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t). We are not sure why this happened, but hope to have some feed back that enlightens us as to what we did really right and what we did that was not so good or causes lack of participation. Furthermore, some of us are beginning to ask if we really want to do this and is it really worth it if participation is not available. Please, everyone give this some serious thought.<\/p>\n
Gary, K7OX, presented a step by step program with some assistance from Wayne and Randy and some info from Barb on logging with LOTW.<\/p>\n
Meeting Began: Motion to accept the minutes as submitted (msc). Motion to receive the treasurer\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s report as submitted (msc). There were 15 people present for this meeting. Move that we pay Wayne for the Video from Q-6 News on field day (m\/s\/c). <\/p>\n
We are nearing Hamfest and are in need of everyone\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s participation as we have the responsibility of manning the admission table, keeping the SDXA table going and the sale table that will be set up. We are looking at having a video going the full time of the Hamfest at the SDXA table. Everyone at the meeting seemed to think this was a good idea. We are hoping it will be a great addition to past years. Lamar, WA7LT and Gary, K7OX will be making presentations at Hamfest.<\/p>\n
Lamar, WA7LT is kind of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153ify\u00e2\u20ac\u009d due to the fact that he does have another surgery coming up and will need some recovery time.<\/p>\n
We are looking to update our list of inventory. Please, everyone who has SDXA property stored at home, just send an e-mail to Mary Beth at kc7qgv@hotmail.com and let her know so that she can add to the inventory that already exist.<\/p>\n
