{"id":184,"date":"2006-05-11T20:59:16","date_gmt":"2006-05-12T01:59:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sdxa.org\/?p=184"},"modified":"2016-02-17T19:32:03","modified_gmt":"2016-02-18T03:32:03","slug":"may-2006-minutes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sdxa.org\/?p=184","title":{"rendered":"May 2006 Minutes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SPOKANE DX ASSOCIATION MINUTES<br \/>\nMAY 4, 2006<br \/>\n7:00 P.M.<\/p>\n<p>Dale (WU7X) called the meeting to order.<\/p>\n<p>We are doing things a bit differently this evening.  We will have the<br \/>\nprogram presentation before the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The program for this evening was given by Lamar (WA7LT).  The program was on<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u0153How High Should your Antenna Go\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and Lamar will complete this presentation<br \/>\nin June, so please plan to attend the next meeting for the very interesting<br \/>\nand informative conclusion to this program.  There was also a short video<br \/>\npresentation (Potomic Valley Radio Club) that went with Lamar\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s program.<\/p>\n<p>Field Day Discussion:<\/p>\n<p>KARS will be working with us this year.<\/p>\n<p>Kirk (K7EKM) will be heading up the Phone Station and he reports that all is<br \/>\ncoming along well.<\/p>\n<p>Lamar will be heading up the CW Station and he reports the SDXA has<br \/>\npurchased a Transceiver.<\/p>\n<p>GOTA will be helped along by the VHF Club and they will provide a turn key<br \/>\nstation and we would provide a gap vertical.<\/p>\n<p>Computer and Soft Ware \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Kirk (K7EKM) is providing a computer to load up for<br \/>\n1 station (laptop)<br \/>\nDale (WU7X) can provide an LCD CW Station that needs a serial board for<br \/>\nkeying<\/p>\n<p>Antennas will be headed up by Dan (N5AR).  He has built 2 verticals.  One<br \/>\nperson can walk them up.  Wayne (WA1PMA) has been helping out and they are<br \/>\nput together at Dan\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s home.  Dan feels it will all work well.  A Dipole for<br \/>\n40 Meter is needed.  Jim (NE7F) will volunteer a high tower for 80 Meters.<br \/>\nWayne has built a radio system for it.  An 80 Meter Dipole will be there as<br \/>\nwell.  There is going to be a total of 6 antennas with coax.<\/p>\n<p>Generator \u00e2\u20ac\u201c one is being provided by John (KE7CSF)<\/p>\n<p>Kirk (K7EKM) has new coax (500 feet).  It was decided that he would cut (2)<br \/>\n100 foot lengths and (2) 150 foot lengths and put connectors on them.<\/p>\n<p>Food will be picked up by Mary Beth (KC7QGV) and David (AC7MV).<\/p>\n<p>Motion to accept the minutes as presented on the Web Page (m\/s\/c)<\/p>\n<p>The Treasurer\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Report was presented and given by Lamar (WA7LT).<\/p>\n<p>Announcements:<br \/>\nTotal cost of Insurance brought in by Lam is $325.00 yearly.  This matter<br \/>\nwill be discussed by the officers and then brought back to membership with a<br \/>\nrecommendation.  General consensus at this time is that it may just be too<br \/>\nexpensive and not serve a good enough purpose.<\/p>\n<p>Pacific North West DX Convention will be July 21, 22 and 23.<\/p>\n<p>7th Call Area QSO Party will be May 6th and 7th.  It will be from 6:00 a.m.<br \/>\non the 6th through midnight on the 7th.<\/p>\n<p>We received two new members this evening:<br \/>\nW7KLL  Kenneth Lindahl<br \/>\nW7RJR   Robert Raymond<br \/>\nWelcome to both of you.<\/p>\n<p>Lamar (WA7LT) reminded us that distribution of Field Day responsibilities<br \/>\nneed to be shared and two major things need to be remembered.<br \/>\nHave a good performance socially<br \/>\nHave a lot of participation shared by all<\/p>\n<p>No new information from Hamfest.<\/p>\n<p>There will be some new items coming up for sale as soon as Kirk (K7EKM) gets<br \/>\nthem dismantled.
