Visitors K7EKM (Kirk), W7WMO (Gene), W7OW (Pete), and W7BHP (Dick) were welcomed.  There was an around-the-room introduction, plus an attendance sign-in list of those present which started the activities.  There were 24 attendees, including the 4 visitors and 1 new member, for this meeting.  Comments were:<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tK7OX-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dserious work in both the CQ WW SSB DX and the Sweepstakes CW contests, both assisted (packet) category<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tWA7LT-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201d serious work in both the CQ WW SSB DX and the Sweepstakes CW Contests<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tK7EFB-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201drotor repair by N7KR was finished in time for 96 QSO\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s in CQ WW SSB DX Contest (missed S9, 9L1, Z22)\u00e2\u20ac\u201damplifier repaired by N5AR returned at this meeting<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tW3AS-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dworked some in the CW Sweepstakes Contest\u00e2\u20ac\u201dworked the 3X<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tN5AR-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dbad motor for motorized tower now replaced\u00e2\u20ac\u201dnew KLM 6 element 20 meter beam now in place<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tXYL N5AR\u00e2\u20ac\u201dVirginia supporting Dan\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s ham activities<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tKE7AJ-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dreceived VP6DI QSL<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tKC7QGV-A\u00e2\u20ac\u201dantenna going up this weekend<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tKD7RHR-V\u00e2\u20ac\u201d8 QSO\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s in CQ WW SSB DX Contest<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tW7BHP-V&#8211;10 QSO\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s in CQ WW SSB DX Contest<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tW7OW-V\u00e2\u20ac\u201dmoving Montana to Spokane in spring\u00e2\u20ac\u201dfor now no DX, only dipoles for 80 &#038; 40<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tK7EKM-V\u00e2\u20ac\u201d125 QSO\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s in the CQ WW SSB DX\u00e2\u20ac\u201dstation is a TS-930, triband beam, &#038; Butternut vertical<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tN7KR-A\u00e2\u20ac\u201dgot K7EFB\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s rotor repaired &#038; still helping several others<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tK7AWB-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dRepaired feedlines (no more soldering on top of tower!)\u00e2\u20ac\u201dthe VHF\/UHF antennas all working&#8211;150 QSO\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s in CQ WW SSB DX Contest<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tW6AEA-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201d139 QSO\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s &#038; 35 zone multipliers in the CQ WW SSB DX Contest<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tN7ER-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201d 174 QSO\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s &#038; 52 zone multipliers in the CQ WW SSB DX Contest<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tKC7MM-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dworked some in the CQ WW SSB DX Contest\u00e2\u20ac\u201dcomputer went dead\u00e2\u20ac\u201dreceived A5 QSL<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tW7WMO-V\u00e2\u20ac\u201dloves CW, elk hunting &#038; salmon fishing\u00e2\u20ac\u201dgot both the VP6 &#038; P5, now at 306 total DXCC<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tKC7WEW-V\u00e2\u20ac\u201dwith limited time, worked a few in CQ WW SSB DX Contest<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tKD7OY-A\u00e2\u20ac\u201dnew antenna working&#8211; worked 112 QSO\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s with 35 zone &#038; 62 country multipliers in CQ WW SSB DX Contest<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tK7GS-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dworked in the CQ WW RTTY Contest<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tKD7OCT-A\u00e2\u20ac\u201dnew member, congratulations Loren\u00e2\u20ac\u201d now fighting a computer virus\u00e2\u20ac\u201dworking on tower and antennas<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tK7TQ-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dwith QRP 5 watts in Sweepstakes CW worked 400 QSO\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s &#038; 70 ARRL Sections\u00e2\u20ac\u201dworked 3X on 20 to give a total of 153 all QRP<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tW7JJL-A\u00e2\u20ac\u201dmade 8 to 10 QSO\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s in the CQ WW SSB Contest<\/p>\n<p>(F = Full Member, A = Associate Member, V = Visitor)<\/p>\n<p>The report from the nominating committee, N5AR and K7AWB, was that all officers, except for WA7LT, were willing to remain in office for another term.  They further reported that W6AEA accepted the challenge as candidate for the vacated office of Secretary.  No nominations were presented from the floor.  Thus, by acclamation, the officers for 2003 are:<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tK7OX, Gary Elliott, President<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tK7TQ, Randy Foltz, Vice President<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tAA4RT, Mary Moore, Treasurer<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tW6AEA, George Tuncil, Secretary<\/p>\n<p>All submitted club logos (about 8 or 10) were displayed for review.  At the January meeting these will be reduced to two, and the final selection will take place at the February meeting.<\/p>\n<p>K7OX announced:<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tThe December meeting will be a dinner meeting at the China Best on West Riverside with a choice of American style meat.  (Details will be in the meeting announcement.)  This will take place on December 5th at 7:00 PM.<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tOur new club call is KD7SWV, but we are awaiting a vanity call, hopefully K7SDX.<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tN7VBW continues to do a fine job as the packet control operator.<\/p>\n<p>There was no new Treasurer\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s report.<\/p>\n<p>Under new business:<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tIt was decided the January meeting would be on Thursday, January 2.<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tW3AS reported K7OX had the high CW Sweepstakes QSO\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s per hour at 78.<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tK7AWB reported Rohn towers may become scarce as recently the stock was at 10 cents.<\/p>\n<p>Following the meeting Randy, K7TQ, arranged for three of the members who have DXCC Honor Roll plaques (N5AR, K7OX, and WA7LT) to present some of their operating and QSLing tips.  It was assumed it was enjoyed by all as there were many questions from those present.<\/p>\n<p>C.
