An around-the-room introduction, plus an attendance sign-in list of those present, started the activities.  There were 20 attendees, including the 5 visitors, for this lively meeting.  Comments were:<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tK7OX-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dunder the weather, so little ham activity<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tAA7RT-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dworking on the ARRL digital education course and the ARES emergency course\u00e2\u20ac\u201dnow has the web site (www.sdxa.org) up and running<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tWA7LT-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dstill assembling antennas, rotors, etc.<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tAC7MV-A\u00e2\u20ac\u201dremodeling ham shack<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tKC7QGV-A\u00e2\u20ac\u201dremodeling ham shack<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tKE7AJ-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dreceived W7 award for CQ RTTY contest\u00e2\u20ac\u201dcongratulations Barb!<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tW6AEA-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dno DX, only dead bands<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tN7KR-A\u00e2\u20ac\u201dnew member\u00e2\u20ac\u201dwelcome Mike!\u00e2\u20ac\u201dhelped with W7UJ\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s antennas<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tN5AR-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dafter lightening strike (FT-1000D, rotor, etc.) now has new FT-1000 Mark V returned for repair\u00e2\u20ac\u201dworking on 6 element KLM 20 meter beam<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tK7EFB-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dneeds help with broken rotor (N7KR volunteered)\u00e2\u20ac\u201dheard S9 operation<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tN7ER-V\u00e2\u20ac\u201dnow has USACA 2500\u00e2\u20ac\u201dcongratulations Earl!<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tKC7MM-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dreally likes TS-850\u00e2\u20ac\u201dworking DX while mobile and PSK-31 (Hamscope)<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tW3AS-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dlittle new activity<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tK7TQ-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dworked A5 on 20 meters while QRP\u00e2\u20ac\u201ddisplayed received W9LT (now WA7LT) QSL\u00e2\u20ac\u201dUrged all to get on air for Salmon Run QSP Party<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tW7JJL-A\u00e2\u20ac\u201dusual summer non-ham activities<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tKD7OY-V\u00e2\u20ac\u201dJim has new ham shack downstairs\u00e2\u20ac\u201dworking on 25G tower and A4 triband beam with 40 meter add on<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tK7NR-V\u00e2\u20ac\u201dSteve is just coming back on air from 1994 and now working on 20 meters<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tKD7RVV-V\u00e2\u20ac\u201dCorky is getting up to speed with new license and clothes line antenna<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tKD7NVF-V\u00e2\u20ac\u201dRon is preparing for upcoming VHF contest<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tK7AWB-F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dworking on 24 MHz and antennas\u00e2\u20ac\u201dpreparing for Salmon Run QSO Party<\/p>\n<p>      (F = Full Member, A = Associate Member, V = Visitor)<\/p>\n<p>K7OX thanked AA7RT and N7VBW for hosting the August cookout and then made the following announcements:<\/p>\n<p>1.\tWe finally received our ARRL Club affiliation certificate.<br \/>\n2.\tGary asked for volunteers to staff our SDXA booth (hour or so each) at the October 12th Spokane Hamfest.  (It will be at the new high school, 12420 E 32nd Ave.)<br \/>\n3.\tHe had received a request from N\u00c3\u02dcAX encouraging the club to get the members on the air for the Salmon Run QSO Party.  Club activity will be recognized.<\/p>\n<p>Vice President K7TQ, Randy, announced he is working on the following programs for upcoming meetings:<br \/>\n1.\tPropagation information for DXing<br \/>\n2.\tDXing notes by a few of the old timers<br \/>\n3.\tDXpedition presentation<br \/>\n4.\tReceiver technical specifications<\/p>\n<p>Treasurer AA7RT, Mary, reported a balance of $109.70 in the treasury.<\/p>\n<p>Following the meeting WA7LT gave an enjoyable view graph presentation of the other side of contesting.  This resulted in numerous questions from the audience with humorous thoughts and comments.<\/p>\n<p>C. LaMar Ray (WA7LT), Secretary<\/p>\n<p>NOTES:<\/p>\n<p>The club enthusiasm is starting to build.  After the meeting most of the attendees stayed around networking about antennas, equipment, computer programs, etc. for about three-quarters of an hour.
