New visitors N7LEO, Neil, and KD7FEN, Warren, were introduced.  An around-the-room introduction, plus an attendance sign-in list of those present, started the activities; there were 16 attendees.  Most comments reflected the summer doldrums:<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tK7OX\/F<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tWA7LT\/F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dworking on antennas as usual<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tKC7MM\/F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dstill working DX, recommended good book on DXing by W9KNI<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tK7EFB\/F<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tK7AWB\/A\u00e2\u20ac\u201dworking on new antennas, noted Daily DX publication as useful<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tW7FCB\/A\u00e2\u20ac\u201dready for Field Day with Lilac City Radio Club, new tower about ready<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tKE7AJ\/F<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tN7KR\/V&#8211;\t(eligible for membership)<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tW7UJ\/A<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tKD7FEN\/V\u00e2\u20ac\u201dnew tower going in next door to county inspector<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tK7TQ\/F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dBuilt QRP PSK31 rig and worked JA, T9, OH, F<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tAC7MV\/A\u00e2\u20ac\u201dworking on tower<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tKC7QGV\/A\u00e2\u20ac\u201dlarge gauge model railroad going in with new tower<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tW6AEA\/F\u00e2\u20ac\u201dSubmitted cards for 144 entities\u00e2\u20ac\u201dGeorge is now a Full member!!!<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tWS7I\/V\u00e2\u20ac\u201dChecked and approved the W6AEA cards for ARRL DXCC\u00e2\u20ac\u201dthanks Jay!<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tN7LVO\/V<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\t(F = Full Member, A = Associate Member, V = Visitor)<\/p>\n<p>K7OX then made the following announcements:<\/p>\n<p>1.\tOur application for ARRL affiliation has gone through Headquarters, but got hung up on the West Coast (ARRL Director and Section Manager) since April 6.<br \/>\n2.\tOur new web site www.sdxa.org is up and running thanks to AA7RT.<br \/>\n3.\tThe online publication Daily DX has listed our club and the officers.<br \/>\n4.\tAgain, Gary requested inputs for a club logo, and suggestions for wanted programs.<br \/>\n5.\tDue to the 4th of July falling on our normal meeting night, the next meeting will take place at 7 PM Thursday, July 11 at the Public Library, 44 E. Hawthorne Road, about 1 block east of Division.  Due to the superior facility, many of our future meetings may be at this location.<br \/>\n6.\tThe August meeting will be an outdoor BBQ out in the valley.  Everyone is asked to bring their own meat to cook and a dish to share.<\/p>\n<p>Those present agreed there is no present or future need to read the Secretary\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s minutes since all with an E-mail address receive the information with the next meeting announcement.<\/p>\n<p>WS7I, in addition to checking cards for DXCC, announced the new packet node systems operator is Glenn, N7VBW.  He expects no functional changes to the operation.<\/p>\n<p>Following the meeting K7OX gave a live demonstration of the local 2 meter DX packet cluster.  Even N7VBW took part with transmissions from his home.  It was well done and everyone gained something new.<\/p>\n<p>C.
