September 2007 Minutes

The meeting was called to order by President Gary K7OX at 1900 local time.

Gary announced the resignation of President Lamar Ray due to medical conditions. Vice-President Gary K7OX then assumed the duties and title of President for the remainder of the 2007 year. Since elections are due soon for 2008, the office of Vice-President shall remain vacant until the elections.

President Gary K7OX thanked Lamar WA7LT for his service to the organization and wished him well with his upcoming medical procedure.

Officers Kirk K7EKM, Treasurer and Mary Beth KC7QGV, Secretary were absent. Minutes were taken by former President Steve K7AWB.

President Gary K7OX said there was $148.46 in the treasury.

The Minutes of the August meeting have been posted at the organization’s web site.

The Program was given by Jay WS7I on his trips with wife Betsy to the HC8 Galapagos Islands and Ecuador for RTTY contesting. He showed slides of various contest stations, installation of antennas, and some of the wildlife in the Galapagos Islands.

President Gary K7OX announced that the organization had responsibility for the front desk (selling tickets) at the University High School ham convention on Saturday, September 22. He asked for volunteers to man the desk and the SDXA information table. He said he would contact members to volunteer so we have a solid support for our organization’s responsibilities to the convention.

The official meeting was adjourned, but members stayed while each member told what they had been up to recently regarding ham radio.
