SDXA MEETING
JANUARY 4, 2006

Meeting was called to order by Lamar, WA7LT at 7:00 p.m.

Program was introduced and presented:
PVRC Contesting Seminar (Video)
Presented by Bob Cox, K3EST
Very good program video and presentation

Lamar took a moment to thank everyone who made this year’s Annual Banquet
such a great success. However, there were some problems with service and
food. Believe that we might need to look at a different type of arrangement
and place for this next December. A Buffet Style dinner has been suggested
as a way to possibly avoid some of the service problems that we experience
this last December. There will be more discussion and in-put before the
next Annual Banquet. The program that was presented by Jim, was really
great and all comments have been nothing but positive.

Treasurer’s report was passed around and presented. Kirk, K7EKM, was unable
to be at the meeting this evening so Mary Beth has been taken dues and
making out receipts for payment. All paper work will find its way to Kirk
by way of Lamar.

There is some discussion on the possibility of purchasing a couple of
transceivers for “field day” (setting $300.00 aside for this purpose).

We will also set aside $400.00 for Hamfest seed money again this year.
We are obligated to man the ticket counter for the “Hamfest”, which means
that we are expecting our membership to donate an hour or so each to assist
with set up and take and manning our SDXA table as well as the ticket
counter. All help will be appreciated and a big “thank you” in advance to
everyone for their assistance.

Dues are due at this time. The end of February the dues are late.
Our membership is 42 with 20-22 as full members.

There are several members of the SDXA that are meeting on 2 meters as a
spotting cluster on 146.58 Simplex.

In the CQ magazine this month are several honorary mentions for the
different contest and our placement in the CQ 160 Meter Contest. Some of
our members that are mentioned in the CQ magazine is Steve, George, Wayne
(if I missed names, I sincerely apologize). Congratulations everyone who
was mentioned and worked on the contest.

There is also a RTTY Roundup this weekend.
